NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENT: Formula totals for last week are higher in all three major
feeding states: KS 84,136(+10,476), NE 53,905(+2,834), TX 87,701(+11,165).
Total trade volume were also higher in the major feeding areas: KS 90,120
(+7,824), NE 71,242(+2,285), TX 91,089(+10,321). New showlists appear to
be mixed, higher in Texas, but lower in Kansas and Nebraska/Colorado. Bids
and asking prices have yet to be established, and significant trade volume
will likely be delayed until the second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 304.97 +0.06, Select 295.80
+1.63), with light to moderate box movement (52.08 lds of choice cuts,
7.65 lds of select cuts, 2.68 lds of trim, and 20.30 lds of ground). At
the top of the noon hour live cattle contracts are lower while feeder
issues are mixed.
